Our neighbor, Colleen and her Dad, Harry, had a good time feeding Excel the other day. On Monday, April 22nd, we had a Japanese lady, Yoko, and her daughter, Saeko, staying with us in the B&B. Saeko had an interview with the New Hampton boarding school on the 23rd. They went with Eva to watch her milk. I went to feed Excel, and her aunt, Corel. Well, Corel had just dropped a kid about 15 minutes earlier. The vet had checked out Corel a few weeks ago and confirmed she was not pregnant. Anyway, Corel, Firewall, and Excel are all doing fine. Godmother Eva is excited as usual. Yoko and Saeko got to see their first goat birth, got to cut the cord and all that good stuff -- it sure made their stay at Shaker Woods Farm unusual. Saeko was really pleased with the New Hampton School and hopes to return this fall. Here's a picture of the three "nurses."
